As kids, we had a large park and neighborhood pool across from my house where we played every day. In high school I attended St. John’s Seminary studying for the priesthood for three years and received a quality education. I became a teacher for 26 years teaching American history, government, and my favorite, sociology, in a suburban Kansas City high school. I retired from the high school classroom in 1999 but stayed in education – teaching graduate teacher courses as an adjunct professor for two universities and served 12 years as the education specialist at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library in Independence, MO.
