A retired widower, looking for companionship with a lady of about my own age to share the golden years.
My wife and I emigrated from Britain in 1979, and both our children were born here. We both were granted NZ citizenship.
I am reasonably healthy and fit. I am not a sports person, but have enjoyed 10-pin bowling on rare occasions. I also like going for walks. One of these days, I will buy myself a bike.
The most wonderful experience I had (apart from being married and raising two children!) was flying a glider solo in my youth.
I am a Scout Leader in Brooklyn, Wellington, and a singer with Wellington Male Voice Choir.
I have a BA (Hons) from the Open University of Britain, and have spent my whole working life in the computer industry.
I retired 7 years ago, and became a widower 3 years ago. My son,who is a civil engineer, is currently living with me. My daughter is currently in Auckland.
I am not a believer in God, although I do strongly support the ethics and messages of humanity expressed in Christianity. Similar ideals are also to be found in other religions, such as Buddhism.
My interests include Astronomy, Photography and railways. I am a member of the Welsh Society of Wellington, though I am not Welsh - my late wife was. I visited Wales on many occasions in my younger days. I am a member of the NZ Railway & locomotive society, and am engaged in a project to convert their Archive's photographic collection into digital images.
I have an ambition one day to see the Northern lights.
