Love to laugh and find humour in most situations (which I know can be irritating to some people, but as they say in the classics 'ya get that'). I don't have a lot of patience with pretentious people and prefer to mix with people who are pretty straight-forward and down to earth. If you have a sense of humour similar to mine, I would first of all be very surprised, but also love to meet you. I don't like conflict (in spite of coming from a lengthy military career), but I do respect differing points of view and am always happy to discuss issues of common interest. Not a very political or a deeply religious person, but I have a reasonable sense of perspective in regard to both. I am not really into the pub / club scene either, but that doesn't mean I am anti-social. I just prefer other ways of socializing.

I enjoy most kinds of music from 60's to now except RAP, Techno or Slim Dusty type C&W. I also like classical music by some of the great composers and will grab any opportunity to see a live orchestral performance.

Favourite actors are Harrison Ford, Kevin Costner, Chevy Chase, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock. I particularly like good comedy and enjoy any of the National Lampoon 'Vacation' movies, or almost anything with Chevy Chase, but my all time favourite movie was an oldie, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' with Gregory Peck

Don't care much for TV, other than to keep up with the news, some British comedies and some sport.

I enjoy cricket, AFL and NRL, but don't have an all consuming passion for any of them.

My interests include music , cooking, travelling, writing, producing, directing and performing in amateur theatre
