I am an independent woman with a very sensitive and romantic side. I unexpectedly lost my husband 9+ years ago. Following his death, I decided that I needed to learn to be self-sufficient. If I should meet someone in the future that I was attracted to, I wanted to make sure my own life was aligned and decisions made for the right reasons. My friends find me to be outgoing, friendly and funny. I am a "snowbird" and travel in my motor home to Sarasota, Fl. where I spend 3 months before returning to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia where I live. My black Labrador retriever, Prince Edward, and I enjoy all of the sun and fun we can get. He enjoys traveling as well, but there's no place like home. I have read a great deal of profiles and most mention honesty and not looking for games; at this point in our lives I think everyone should be honest. I grew up in northwest Washington D.C. To balance out city life, my parents owned an orchard south of D.C., where I spent summers and some weekends.
